Target audience

We welcome applications from candidates that meet the following selection criteria:

A. Essential

Only applications meeting all essential selection criteria will be assessed.

(1) Professional

Candidates will be required to demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • a University degree (or equivalent academic degree) attested by a diploma in one of the following domains: international relations, defence studies, engineering, or innovation management;
  • at least 3 years of professional experience in similar duties, acquired after the award of the academic qualification required as a condition of eligibility;
  • familiarity with EU defence research and funding mechanisms;
  • experience in organising stakeholder engagement activities and workshops;
  • a very good command of written and spoken English.

(2) Personal

All staff must be able to fit into the Agency's way of working (see para. 2). Other attributes important for this post include:

  • a strong sense of duty and responsibility;
  • ability to work in a team and independently in their area of responsibility;
  • ability to work effectively in a multinational environment;
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • results-oriented and strong motivation;
  • flexibility and innovativeness;
  • very good communication and networking skills;
  • genuine commitment to the Agency's objectives.

B. Desirable

The following will be considered an advantage:

  • experience in technology scouting, innovation projects, or operational experimentation;
  • experience in working with startups, SMEs, or venture capital funds in a defence-related context;
  • hold a (recognised) Project Management qualification (i.e. certification);
  • familiarity with the defence environment.
