This vacancy is for candidates who fulfill the following criteria:
A. Essential

(1) Professional
Candidates will be required to demonstrate the following qualifications:
- at least 8 years of relevant professional experience in the key responsibilities mentioned in the duties section, acquired after the award of the qualification required as a condition of eligibility;
- knowledge and experience in the field of military aviation, cyber security and related issues;
- knowledge of Single European Sky related issues, particularly ATM/CNS, SESAR, R&T, and standardisation;
- a track record of delivering successful business outcomes;
- familiarity with the EU environment and organisations, and a good understanding of EDA’s main tasks and functions;
- a very good knowledge of written and spoken English.
(2) Personal
All staff must be able to fit into the Agency's way of working (see para. 2). Other attributes important for this post include:

B. Desirable
The following will be considered an advantage:
- a University degree (or equivalent academic degree) in, or related/similar to Information Security and Information Technology, or Cyber security;
- hold a (recognised) project management qualification;
- experience of leading organisational and process change.
Why we are consulting
We are looking for a Project Officer Aviation Cyber.
Under the supervision of the Head of SES/SESAR Unit, the jobholder will:
- manage and further develop the aviation cyber work programme in collaboration with the military aviation community, Member States, civil aviation stakeholders and the relevant Units from the other EDA Directorates;
- identify new requirements and develop mitigation strategies to support an improved level of cyber resilience in the wider context of military aviation and to preserve resilience of ATM/CNS military systems;
- monitor regulatory developments on EU and international level and proactively support rulemaking activities to ensure the interest of Member States are adequately considered and reflected;
- keep track of EU initiatives that have potential implications on military aviation, and which are related to cyber security, and develop and propose mitigation options in close coordination with Member States and relevant civil stakeholders;
- support aviation cyber standards development activities to ensure adequate consideration of military aviation requirements;
- ensure cross-directorate coordination of EDA activities related to aviation cyber to exploit synergies;
- identify military cyber security and confidentiality requirements to influence R&T from the outset, including regarding emerging and disruptive technologies;
- ensure cross-directorate cooperation and coordination regarding other EDA cyber-related activities, including training;
- interact and proactively engage with international stakeholders in the jobholder’s area of responsibilities, chair meetings and represent EDA in meetings, conferences and seminars;
- initiate and lead projects related to aviation cyber, in coordination and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders;
- provide expert support and advice to military aviation policymakers and to internal working groups;
- take on additional tasks as required in the interest of the service.
Duties may evolve according to development of the EDA’s structure and activities, and the decisions of EDA management.

The Project Officer Aviation Cyber will be appointed by the Chief Executive.
Recruitment will be as a member of the temporary staff of the Agency for a four-year period. Renewal is possible within the limits set out in the EDA Staff Regulations. The successful candidate will be recruited as Temporary Agent, grade AD10.
The pay for this position consists of a basic salary of 10.518,29€ supplemented with various allowances, including as applicable expatriation or family allowances. Successful candidates are graded on entry into service according to the length of their professional experience. Salaries are exempted from national tax, instead an Agency tax at source is paid. Failure to obtain the requisite security clearance certificate before the expiration of the probationary period may be cause for termination of the contract.
Candidates are advised that part of the recruitment process includes medical analyses and physical check-up with the Agency’s Medical Adviser.

This list will be valid until 31/12/2025, and may be extended by decision of the Chief Executive. During the validity of the reserve list, successful candidates may be offered a post in EDA according to their competences in relation to the specific requirements of the vacant post.
