Target audience

As a member of the Innovation, Conduct and Consumers Department (ICC), the Specialist in Digital Finance reports to the Head of the Digital Finance Unit working in the areas of development of policy and supervisory convergence tools, financial innovation, ICT risk management and crypto-assets.

The Specialist plays an important role in the EBA's work on technology-driven innovation in financial services (including operational resilience, crypto assets, artificial intelligence etc.).

In light of the current recruitment needs, the Specialist in Digital Finance contributes to the functioning of the EU Supervisory Digital Finance Academy (EU SDFA).

For the EU SDFA project, the EBA has partnered with the European Commission, the other European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs), and the European University Institute (EUI) to support Member States through the establishment and implementation of a Supervisory Digital Finance Academy.

The aim of the Academy is to strengthen supervisory capacity in the area of innovative digital finance, thus supporting the objectives of the EU Digital Finance Strategy.

The Academy was established for an initial duration of three years and has been extended with a second edition until 31 December 2028. The delivery of the second edition will consist of a comprehensive training curriculum on digital finance, including seminars, lessons, and self-guided online study training. In addition, a series of yearly workshops will address practical issues arising from the regulation and supervision of innovation in finance.
