Essential Skills and Knowledge
· Qualification:
a. a level of education which corresponds to completed university studies, preferably in economics, law, social sciences, European studies, international relations, political sciences, or similar, attested by a diploma, when the normal period of university education is four years or more; or
b. a level of education which corresponds to completed university studies, preferably in economics, law, social sciences, European studies, international relations, political sciences, or similar, attested by a diploma and appropriate professional experience of at least one year, when the normal period of university education is at least three years;
· At least three years of proven full-time professional experience, acquired after the qualification required under a) or b) above, in at least one of the following areas:
a. government affairs, public affairs, or institutional relations involving engagement with European Union institutions, bodies, offices and agencies and/or national public authorities – acquired in public or private sector;
b. stakeholder engagement, stakeholder management and relationship building;
c. EU policy development, coordination and implementation;
d. monitoring, analysing and reporting on regulatory, legislative and/or public policy developments;
e. drafting briefings, speeches, position papers or other strategic documents for senior management or decision makers.
Note: Your professional experience will be counted from the time you obtained the certificate or diploma required for admission to the selection procedure. Part-time work will be taken into account in proportion to the stated percentage in relation to full-time work. In case of internship, only paid internship is considered. In case of a doctorate/PhD 50% of the actual duration of the studies will be taken into account as professional experience, subject to an upper limit of three years, on the condition that the candidate was paid during the period of his/her PhD studies, the PhD studies have been completed and a diploma was awarded.
· Excellent English written and oral communication skills including the ability to produce tailored material for different audiences.
· Working knowledge of MS Office, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge
· Proven work experience in a multicultural environment;
· Professional experience in a European or international institution, agency or body;
· Knowledge of EU decision-making processes and the functioning of the European institutional framework;
· Knowledge of financial services and EU financial sector policy;
· Knowledge of a third EU language;
· Experience using AI-enabled tools to support research, analysis, drafting or other professional activities.
Kuulemisen tarkoitus
Job Purpose
The IRSI Team promotes EIOPA’s role, business strategy and activities towards all European institutions and bodies, and external stakeholders, including through regular contacts, meetings and other engagements. The team is furthermore responsible for EIOPA’s governance by professionally managing – through sound processes – the smooth running of EIOPA’s decision making bodies and internal Senior Management meetings. The Team also ensures the coordination of EIOPA’s Stakeholder Groups and the efficient cooperation with the other European Supervisory Authorities through the Joint Committee. The Team provides strategic advice to EIOPA’s Senior Management (i.e. EIOPA Chairperson and Executive Director) on all institutional and governance matters, pointing out risks and opportunities relating to the achievement of EIOPA’s strategic objectives.
