EUAN Diversity and Inclusion Awards


The EU Agencies Network (EUAN) celebrates every year the efforts of EU Agencies and Joint Undertakings to create inclusive, diverse and respectful workplaces. Through the EUAN Diversity and Inclusion Awards, the Network recognises actions that: 

  • promote equitable and supportive working environments
  • raise awareness of diversity and inclusion across the EU public sector
  • inspire others by sharing proven and replicable good practices

EUAN Diversity and Inclusion Awards 2026

The EUAN Diversity and Inclusion Awards 2026 are now open for applications.

Launched in the context of EU Diversity Month, the Awards recognise initiatives by EU decentralised Agencies and Joint Undertakings that promote inclusion, belonging and diverse working environments.

In 2026, applicants are invited to submit entries in the field of “Outstanding Internal Initiative of the Year”. This category recognises initiatives aimed at staff and internal stakeholders within EU Agencies and Joint Undertakings.

The jury will also award up to three Certificates of Excellence to initiatives showing strong impact and commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Who can apply

Applications are open to staff members, teams, units or departments of EU decentralised Agencies and Joint Undertakings.

Applications can be submitted by 30 June 2026.

Winners’ announcement

The winners will be announced during the EUAN plenary meetings in Bratislava, on 13–15 October 2026.

EUAN Diversity and Inclusion Awards 2025

In 2025, the Awards attracted 20 applications from across the Network - European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), Global Health Joint Undertaking, European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA), European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), European Medicines Agency (EMA), European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX), European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (eu-LISA) etc. 

The initiatives submitted in 2025 address topics such as inclusive leadership, wellbeing, gender equality, LGBTIQ+ inclusion and disability awareness, showcasing the collective commitment of EU Agencies and Joint Undertakings to build a fair and representative EU public service. 

Entries were submitted in two categories: 

  • Outstanding Internal Initiative, for actions targeting staff and internal stakeholders
  • Outstanding External Initiative, for actions engaging external audiences or the wider public 

The winners were announced on 23 October 2025 during the EUAN plenary meetings in Brussels.

Outstanding Internal Initiative - Fusion for Energy (F4E) – Women’s Leadership Development Programme (WLDP) 

F4E’s programme helps women strengthen their leadership skills through coaching, peer learning and career workshops. 36 participants have already benefited since the launch of the initiative in 2024, leading to an increase in women applying for and taking up management positions. 

The initiative promotes inclusive leadership, mentoring and gender balance as part of F4E’s organisational culture.

Outstanding External Initiative - European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) – Girls Go Circular 

EIT’s Girls Go Circular initiative supports girls aged 14–19 in developing digital and entrepreneurial skills and increasing their participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Over 65,000 teenage girls in 35 countries - 27 EU member states and 8 Horizon Europe countries, have participated in the initiative. Over 1,000 schools across Europe benefited from the circular learning model of the Girls Go Circular initiative.  

Since its launch in 2020, Girls Go Circular continue to equip young girl students across Europe with the skills and confidence to become leaders in the digital and green economy.

Certificates of Excellence


The jury awarded three Certificates of Excellence for outstanding achievements in specific fields: 

  • SustainabilityEuropean Medicines Agency (EMA): Reasonable accommodation measures for staff with disabilities
  • Cultural shiftEuropean Union Agency for Railways (ERA): Women in Rail Award
  • Outreach European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA): “What do you choose to see?” – campaign challenging stereotypes and discrimination
